Hi I am Shane Polly and here is a short story of how it went for me on opening day, what an unbelievable year. , we believe in qdma where we hunt and this yr it seems like it has paid off. Thanks for checkin my deer out. Equipment I use H&R ultra slug hunter, Nikon scope, scent-lok suit, la crosse boots, Brunton mono scope, Bushnell rangefinder, Summit viper Treestand, lightfield slugs, and to make this happen with a mature buck downwind, I believe would of never happened without my Scent-Lok suit, I want to say thank you!!
It was opening day, mostly quiet where I was hunting till around 830 the same old doe with her three little ones walked in from the corn around 830 and headed of through the thicket same as any other day. Then about 20 minutes later a 7pt that usually is roaming around came through checkin scrapes and caught wind of my code blue scent bombs, came in to check them out, and then freshened his scrapes and walked off. Things slowed for awhile then a little after 11 some deer came crashing through the corn, stopping a about ten rows in, I couldn’t tell what they was, they only stayed about 20 secs and ran towards my brother I let him know deer was heading towards him. His reply was here he comes, I waited and looked that way waiting for a shot and he never did, then about ten minutes later I looked out in a cut bean field to the east and that’s the first time I seen his rack he was right on a doe chasing, I knew he was a shooter. I seen him cross back into the fence row by the corn, he made a couple leaps and his rack looked huge @ 250 yards, my heart was goin. Then about 10 mins later he was walkin by himself in the bean field, I hit my doe bleat twice the second time he stopped and looked and then dropped his head and pick up the pace, I knew he was comin then, so I got ready, about 10 mins later a heard a crash in the corn about 80 yards out in the corn and there he was, he was directly down wind of me lip curling, at first I thought it was just the scent, I already had the scope on him, and then he threw his ears forward, which at that point I felt he was goin to bolt, I took my neck shot and down he went. It’s was just a awesome day.
