Dear Scentlok
While deer hunting in south Texas, I found a small clearing inside a very dense scope of trees. I decided to bait it and return in three days to hunt it, I came back in three days and found a nice spot to set up at a small tree that allowed me to use one branch as a rest/prop for the gun or my arms. Darkness came and a full moon started to rise and I could see the moonlight lighting up my little clearing. Then I heard it. A group of wild hogs came in behind me and as I slowly turned my head a HUGE boar walked right beside me. I was sitting in a fold out chair and his back hump was even with my eyes. The boar stopped and turned his head toward me and I could plainly see every detail of his 4 inch tusks. He sniffed and snorted at me with his head only inches from my gun barrel. He couldn’t detect any threat I suppose (although the sound of my heart pumping and the little voice in my head screaming “I’m gonna die” should have been heard several miles away) He simply snorted slightly and moved into the clearing where, once I realized I wasn’t paralyzed, I shot him at 22 feet in the moonlight. The boar weighed 468 pounds and had 4-inch tusks on his right side and 3.76 inch on his left. (I’ll not mention the 4 pounds of goo in my pants}. We later measured the distance of his hoof print from the chair leg and it measured 2 feet 3 inches.
I have hunted hogs alot and I firmly believe that because of my Scentlok savannah suit I was not attacked. I will never hunt hogs or anything else again without one. If I have a gun I’ll have one on,
